About Me

Thank You for visiting my site. I am a hockey dad, high school teacher, and former newspaper editor living the dream in Minnesota. I am fortunate to still cover high school and prep hockey for a second job for some of my favorite online and print publications. I used to say that I could watch hockey all day and I meant it. Now I watch it all day a couple dozen times a year, and happy to have the continued opportunity to do it with media and reporting.

I live in Robbinsdale, MN, and have two sons; Henry (11) and George (7), and have a reason to visit the rink just about year round. Henry will be a second-year Peewee in the fall (25-26) and George will be a Mite 3 at Armstrong Cooper. I also have the pleasure of coaching the boys and their peer groups, going on my eighth year. For the past four winters, I have built a modest backyard rink that was used everyday by the boys, and was the best decision I ever made…to chase down that dream despite the thought I needed a huge backyard to pull it off.
